First off: We were paid $40 to write 2 positive reviews at the beginning of the year 2012, so if you see all those positive reviews, that is why. They are FALSE. This place does not deserve a positive review AT ALL. Second: DO NOT MOVE HERE UNLESS YOU HAVE RENTER'S INSURANCE. Three out of the four ground floor apartments in my building have been broken into, and many more in other buildings have also been broken into. Mine was the third in our building, and it happened in broad daylight on a Saturday. The thieves are waiting and watching to see when people leave. We had over $7,000 worth of items stolen, including our pet's ashes which we kept in a wooden box that was worth nothing to the thieves. It keeps happening, and management is not alerting people to the fact. They're doing NOTHING about it. The landlady says that she's asked the police to increase their patrols, but the first policeman I ever saw was the one that came to take evidence from my burglarized apartment. The locks are so flimsy on these doors that they can just jimmy them open and waltz right in. If for some reason the lock does hold up, the doors and door frames are so cheap they can knock the door down easily (like they did my neighbor's). We moved here in May 2011, and have since watched this place slip downhill. In the one year of living here, our stove broke (and it is still not working 100%), our fridge broke twice (ruining all of our food and costing us a lot of money to replace it), both toilets broke on separate occasions (they are the cheapest things in the world), there was mold in our bedroom (but it wasn't black mold, so they refused to do anything about it), had an ant infestation, and have had our air conditioning break. The worst part about it is that maintenance only comes on Monday or Friday, and you had better cross your fingers and hope that the landlady even bothers to file a maintenance report in the first place. We have had to go above her and contact the company directly to get anything done. It's ridiculous to have to go through such hassle. She is extremely incompetent and VERY unprofessional, and has been so rude to me. When our rent went up a whopping $80, I tried to meet with her to see if there was anything we could do to bring it down (i.e. sign a longer lease, negotiate, etc.). I was told that I should increase my income instead, and her suggested method of increasing my income was to take in a foster child! She wanted me to exploit the foster system! I was deeply offended by that. After our apartment was robbed, she suggested we just get a fake ADT sign, even though I requested a deadbolt! We still have not gotten our deadbolt installed like I've asked. Please do not move here. It's not worth the pain. The buildings are starting to get infested and grow mold, and the landlady is letting in all manner of people. People that have lived here six or nine years are starting to leave because this place has gone so far downhill. If we hadn't just renewed our lease we would be fleeing too. Guess we'll have to stick it out another 10 months. I'm jealous of my neighbors that only have a couple months left on their lease. They're so worried about having their apartment broken into that they've been taking their valuables with them every time they leave. That's no way to live...
