Review content:
Let me preface this by stating that I really wanted to like this place. I love East Nashville, spend most of my time there, and enjoy seafood. I was quite impressed with the menu, service was good, and the place has a nice ambiance. However, the important part of any restaurant is the food. My group ordered a large selection of appetizers: the fried jalapenos, fried shrimp, fried clams, crab cakes, french fries, and raw oysters. The fries and oysters were both good, shrimp was pretty fair, everything else was subpar. I tend to agree with some of the prior reviews that the fried food tasted similar to the fried foods one might purchase at Sam's club, which is disappointing considering the name of the restaurant is ""battered and fried"". The crab cakes especially were very poor and had a rubbery texture. I think that overall a few tweaks in the food quality and frying techniques would make a huge difference. That being said this is a place that I will give a second chance, but if the food does not improve I see it as nothing more than a place to drop in on occasion and grab a beer and a few oysters.
Pros: A nicely decorated place, good service, very friendly
Cons: Food is pretty average
