Review content:
Our first and last visit to Ariadne was an absolute disaster. We arrived to a fairly open floor with little wait, the hostess was kind enough to stall our seating to allow for an optimum position for my 6 month pregnant girlfriend with respect to space, access, etc. Once seated, our waiter took about 15 minutes to even stop by and offer water, bread was another 20 minutes away. We were addressed with a familiar understated arrogance which we're thick-skinned enough to generally hope is a harbinger if fine food to come. Instead, the attitude was followed by an impressive lack of attention for awkward epochs during which we stared at empty glasses, mused possible problems and eventually wondered if we were actually being discriminated against. We decided to share one each of the appetizer, first (smaller) courses and main (larger) courses after which another 20 minutes passed before a cold Mediterranean plate arrived whose hummous, Baba and tzakiki could not have required any time at all to prepare. By this time most people around us had begun leaving, we'd been at our table well over an hour. After finishing the appetizer and waiting another geologic period for a second long delayed but much appreciated basket of bread, we decided to give up and leave. It took some time to hail our waiter but we got him and asked that if either course was ready, we'd settle for first available and call it a night. He loosely apologized saying the courses had been accidentally made out of order by way of explanation. We'd have happily eaten anything ready if given the choice, instead we were simply avoided. After an hour and 45 minutes in the restaurant our gnocci arrived. We wolfed it down and flagged the bread girl for our check. The waiter tried to offer us the main course as a consolation but we simply left. 2 hours, horrible attitude, luke-warm average food, complete failure served late. I'd sooner eat Ramen than return. Pros: Nice atmosphere Cons: Everything but the atmosphere
