Review content:
I was thinking of getting my first tattoo last autumn. I had a couple pictures printed out, and knew pretty much what I wanted. Talked to Doz on the phone, and he said to bring them in. Showed him the pictures and explained what I wanted, and he immediately gave me a bunch of books to look through to 'get some ideas'. Um, hello? I brought my ideas with me. He seemed very unwilling to work with me, and was trying to convince me that my tattoo had to be much bigger than I wanted. (I get that there are limits to how small something can be, but plenty of the images on his website were smaller and more intricate than I was looking for.) Gave me a quote of $1500, half upfront for him to just draw me a picture. Considering he could use my printouts to practically stencil the thing, it seemed overpriced. He talked a lot about some of his other 'high roller' customers, and basically sounded like a snob. I got the impression that I was wasting his time, so I left and won't be 'wasting' his time any more. So glad that I had friends with me who have had tattoos done before, so I know that this isn't a typical experience.
