Review content:
I live in Orlando and travel to South Beach a few times per year to hang out with friends. South Beach is one of my favorite places in the world. I really love the atmosphere on Lincoln Road. But, when I dine on South Beach, I always have to be patient and expect to deal with perfunctory customer service. My visit to Aura was no exception.\r \r I agree with one of the reviews below....the foreigner female hostess lured us in with $5.00 mojito and sangria specials only to find out from our server that really was not the case. When questioned, he stuttered and gave us an inadequate response. We were hungry and they have a nice outside seating arrangement, so we decided to stay. I have to admit the mojito's we ordered (2 for $14.00) were very good. It was warm out and I wanted something light, so I just ordered a Greek Salad with Chicken. Our server did not know if chicken could be added to that salad. The menu allows you to add chicken to the caesar salad, so it should not be an issue to add it to the Greek Salad (sigh).\r \r Our server (older male) was indifferent and incompetent. He responded with snide condescending remarks to basic questions and seemed to get easily overwhelmed. Believe it or not, he actually was not a foreigner. I also cannot stand that gratuity is automatically included at restaurants on South Beach, regardless of party size. It drives me insane! We had another encounter with the same foreigner female hostess I mentioned above. She was walking by our table and I asked her if she could take a picture of us. She mumbled a yes, but that she would be right back. She walked back past our table like 20 seconds later and didn't even stop to take the picture....just totally avoided us. Rude.\r \r I'll skip Aura next time I am on South Beach and try someplace else.
