Carl's Taxi is really reliable which is the most important attribute to a taxi company. They show up when they say they will be there. Instead of telling you they will be there in 10 minutes in the summertime because that is what you want to hear, they give you an honest estimate of how long they will be and if they run later, they CALL YOU, instead of making you call them 8,000 times looking for your taxi and having them lie over and over about a time frame like every other taxi in East Hampton. I found Carl's after another taxi company (green light) made me miss my train on a Sunday and promised to get me to the next one. Instead, they called Carl's last minute to get me and the cab arrived and got me to the train on time. The car was clean and the driver was really nice and didn't look like he had been using illegal substances all day. Since then, I have taken Carl's exclusively when I am in East Hampton and they haven't let me down yet. I make a reservation and they are always at the bus waiting to take me home, or they are in my driveway 5 minutes early and help me with my bags. And I can not say enough about how friendly and nice all of their drivers are. They take the time to talk to you and don't drive like maniacs because they need to rush to another call. And did I mention the cars are CLEAN and I never worry that it is going to break down on the way because it is running well?
Pros: Show up on time, friendly drivers, safe experience
Cons: Sometimes feel rushed when they show up 10 minutes early to pick me up, but they always tell me to take my time.
