Review content:
""BottleRock"" is an interesting name. I was walking by one day and wanted to know what it was, so I walked in. The first thing you see is a wall of wine bottes lying on their sides. Hey, a wine place! A wine bar it turned out. I love wine - let's try it! I got the menu, lots of choices, though not much food but plenty of cheese. I expected high prices, and whereas there are plenty of choices of wines for $50 a glass, I was surprised to see whole bottles offerd for half that price and wine by the glass is very, very affordable. I think I saw several for $5-10 a glas. The man who served me Nino, the Manager as it turned out, was un-be-lievable as to how much he knows about wine! He dressed sharp, his wine knowledge was sharp, and his service was sharp. I liked his friendly way, and he gave me a mini-wine class when discussing the choices of French bordeaux wines which I love. Nino is a character; he said ""wine is life, it's a journey of self enjoyment"" or words to that effect. I think he's obsessed with wines, and in his job, that's not a bad thing! He has traveled all over the world, and started talking about wineries in various countries, and when he described the characteristics of the wines, it was like wine poetry! Nino was gracious with his time and made sure he thoroughly described all the wines we were tlaking about. I asked a lot of questions, and his knowledge is so superior that in the end I just asked him to select something for me and I'd go with his choice. Well, he sure knows what he's doing! The wines he brought were delicious! I've been to some of the best restaurants in Los Angeles, Chicago, New York, and some of the best in France and Italy and Germany, and I never met someone like Nino with so much knowledge about the wine regions of the world, and so much willingness to spend the time and share his obvious enthusiasm and information about wines. You won't go wrong letting Nino choose your wines! I'm definitely going back, and asking for Nino. Pros: large selection, Nino is very knowledgeable about wines Cons: not much food, but enough to enjoy with wine
