BEWARE of businesses that require that they automatically bill your credit card and then don't give you a copy of the contract until it's too late to cancel. Yes, this is what happened with My Gym. Classes are billed every 4 weeks with a minimum of 8 weeks. They require 4 weeks notice to cancel, so essentially, you must cancel before the first 4 weeks are up, otherwise you'll be billed for 12 weeks total, and so on. They decided to wait SIX WEEKS after the class I signed on to give me my copy of the contract (which I hurriedly signed with my toddler running around as we were trying to get out the door). After I got it, I read it and tried to cancel the next day but was told I was too late and must pay for another 4 weeks of classes that we weren't planning to take. I tried to call my credit card company and found out that the exact day I made a complaint, My Gym had processed the charge for the next set of classes - this was 2 weeks ahead of when it should have been processed. Gee, what a coincidence. They wanted to make sure they got their money because I was making a complaint, so they charged me even though it wasn't time to bill my card. I am sure I am not the only one that got roped into paying for classes that I didn't want. Too bad. My daughter loved the classes here but this is purposeful deception on the part of management.
