Review content:
I had a hankering for some chinese food, and was pleased to find something close to home. I popped in on a Saturday afternoon to find only one other customer present. Apparently this is the best kept secret in the neighborhood (Phinney), because I had a great, fresh, tasty lunch for a really low cost. I was brought a teapot full of hot jasmine tea and a menu as soon as I sat down. They have dishes in Chinese, Japanese, and Thai styles. Their lunch combos are only $5.95! I wanted to sample more items, so I got a lunch combo that included pork chow mein, steamed rice, an egg roll, and my choice of soup - hot and sour, and purchased the ginger chicken a la cart. The soup was good. The chow mein was good, and made with fresh (rather than dry) noodles that I would not have been surprised to learn were homemade. And the ginger chicken was excellent - really impressive. I'm often afraid to try unknown asian places in case they don't use good quality meat or fresh enough ingredients (one too many bad teriyaki bowls), but this was delightful. Everything was fresh and high quality. The chicken was strips of all breast meat, cooked to tender perfection with carrots, celery, onions, mushrooms, and lots of ginger in a delicious sauce. I will definitely be eating here again, especially since, as I grabbed a menu on my way out, I learned they deliver! And they have a web site. It's chefliao - dot- com. Pros: High quality food
