Review content:
Would not advise this garage to my worst enemies! While having my truck towed by AAA through Westland Car Care the driver suggested their repair shop. He was very helpful, and called for me to see if they could get my truck right in. Knowing what I know now I assume the drivers get commission for bringing in work. This is not the problem I have with them. The service adviser called me the next morning, and stated that one of the axle shafts had broke in half. This was the reason I needed the tow in the first place. He also told me that I needed a new wheel bearing in the other side and the total cost of the repairs was $650. I know the signs of a worn/bad wheel bearing and have not had any of the signs so I thought it was a little strange. I asked him to give me a price on only the axle shaft, the price was $210. I said fine just fix that he then told me how it was not advised to drive the truck without replacing the bearing and that the bearing could explode and the wheel could come off. He finally agreed to only repair the axle shaft. Two hours later he called me back, not to tell me that the truck was done but to say how none of his suppliers would have this part for 4 days, and the only way to get it sooner would be to get a re-manufactured part for $100 more or a dealer part for $400. I told him that four days is fine but in the mean time I would make some phone calls. I called Ray and Mike Service center in Redford which I have had really good luck with in the past and should have went there in the beginning. I told Mike my dilemma and he immediately called his suppliers and told me he could get the part the next day. I paid the $44 to Westland Car Care and told them not to touch it. I had it towed to Ray and Mike Service center and they had it done the next day also informed me that their was nothing wrong with my wheel bearings. Also, when I got the written estimate from Westland Car Care, it was not the same as what they told me over the phone. It was well over $100 more!
