Review content:
I had seen these guys for the past 3 years or so for little things like getting a minor adjustment here & there. They were always helpful & I had nothing but great to say about them til Tuesday. My bike was shaking bad so I took it to them for help. Roberto said my front rim was no good. He said the rear was fine so I went ahead & purchased the front rim. Upon riding it home the bike rode the same IE. bad! I had to get home so I figured I'll go in the next day. I looked @ my back rim & it was in bad shape. I'm disappointed in myself that I didn't check my bike before bringing it in. I looked at the front rim before bringing it in & it looked fine, no warping or wobbling. The next day I asked for Roberto & it was his day off. I mentioned to the other mechanic who's name I don't know that perhaps Roberto meant to replace my back rim, not my front. I was giving them the benefit of the doubt. The mechanic looked at my back rim & said "" yup, you're bad rim is no good"". I said, put my old front rim back on & I'll gladly purchase a new back one. They claimed to have thrown out my front rim already & the daily scrap collector had taken it already. OK I said, do you have a used old one? Felix the owner went rummaging through the back but couldn't find one. This got me thinking, ""why would they have these old crappy ones & not mine?"". One that he showed me was all bent so again, why keep these rims, these too should have went to the scrap collector if they were being honest ME which I feel they weren't. The other mechanic even went as far as to say ""well, you told Roberto it was your front tire that was bad"". True, I did tell Roberto that but as a mechanic Roberto should have noticed my back rim was shot, there were even broken spokes which I should have pointed out to them. The other mechanic noticed the broken spokes & said there is no way Roberto would not have noticed it but HE DID. He even tried to be coy by taking off his glasses & saying ""even w/my glasses off I can see this back rim is no good so Roberto for sure would have noticed it"". I said nothing & just seethed inside. I probably should have left right then & there but Felix said, ""I'll just charge you for the new rim & no labor"". I wanted my bike up to speed so I said ""sure"" which I now regret! I was going to buy a new $600 Rockhopper from them but no way now!! I will never see these rip off ever again!! If you go in there for anything, do yourself a favor & at least try to make an assessment of what is wrong w/your bike. ENTER THE BIKE CONNECTION WITH CAUTION!!
