We rented a house w/ mainlander. I would have given zero stars if I could. We moved back to Oregon from California, we traveled to see the house. The girl that showed was great. The house was not clean & yet we had to give a 450.00$ cleaning, non-refundable deposit. Day of move in...still not clean and fireplace was in non-working order. In the two years we lived there...we had the owner come in and out of the home without 24hr notice...the last 6 months, the fireplace finally got fixed but it was during summer, a sink & dishwasher fix took over two weeks to fix. The icing was when having to move out, they showed the place & rented without our knowledge. When discussing it with present agent...he hung up on me. Mainlander will do whatever knowing that they can because no one has sued them for breaking tenant/landlord laws! In the two years in working with mainlander, we dealt with 5 different agents. Either they quit or get fired for unethical behavior..I don t know. There is not one person to go to...and the secretary/front desk lady is rude and will admit they don t have a system of who to go to. If people would stop giving their properties or stop renting...then they wouldn t get away with this! I plan to go to the better business bureau to report them. Have waited to put anything into action because I didn t want them to keep my money of security..which they threatened to do when I complained of them showing the house without our permission. They would also complain that the grass wasn t green enough when we would only use the sprinkler system every other day and complained I had no flowers...so I planted flowers and huge hanging baskets. Drive by the property now...the property is unkempt...grass brown and weeds where my flowers are. Why did I get harassed? And why did the owner keep entering the property and turn the sprinklers on to what he wanted? Totally frustrating!
