Review content:
Just moved here from MA, and didn't expect to find this kind of quality place in Eastern Wake County. What a quaint little downtown strip where this cafe is located in Wendell. Tried the shrimp & grits the other night and it was terrific. Just enough creole seasoning without being overpowering and the shrimp was perfectly cooked. Also recommended: Maryland Crabcakes w/cilantro lime mayonnaise, Southwestern Chicken Ravioli with tomatillo salsa, grilled portabello sandwich, and finally, a restuarant in the south that makes a to-die-for reuben sandwich! The owner-chef is always present and takes the time to welcome new guests as well as the regulars. The cafe also has a great live jazz duo that play every Thursday night. You can bring your own wine or beer with no ""corking fee"", another feature that my husband & I greatly enjoy.
Pros: Excellent service, Eclectic menu, outstanding food
Cons: not enough seating
