Review content:
All of the positive reviews on this site were clearly written by Uhuru staff. I actually have bought and continue to buy things there, only because it's close to my home and work and sometimes you'll find unique things. However, their 'cause' is bizarre, especially considering almost all of the staff, especially those in charge, are white. Their print material on 'where your money goes' is pretty convoluted and never really adequately explains the 'African People's Defense Fund"". It's seriously a hilarious to watch these ridiculous white people walking around in ""ReparationsNow!"" tshirts. That being said, everything is completely over-priced and they rarely bargain with you, even if you're reasonable, since 'everything goes to a good cause'. They actually were selling on old, stained Ikea Lack side table for $20 when it sells AT IKEA NEW for $10!!!!! This place is really a joke and unless you're just plain lazy and don't care where your money goes (like me) don't bother Pros: sometimes can find unique pieces Cons: completely overpriced, more junk than good stuff, staff is weirdly pushy about the 'cause'
