Repast is my new favorite ""fine dining"" restaurant. Bacchanalia and the rest are wonderful once a year, but Repast is great upscale dining without the snobbery (and it's a bit more affordable, especially on Mondays with half-priced bottles of wine). I have eaten at Repast 4 times now. My second meal left something to be desired-- my sugar cane skewered scallops were overcooked and the quinoa was flavorless. However, my first and third meals were great-- the duck risotto was creamy and rich and the duck breast with nappa slaw and buckwheat pancake was wonderful (but you have to be sure to get a little bit of everything with each bite-- otherwise the slaw is overpowering and the pancake is bland). On my 4th visit, a large group went late-night and shared a variety of small plates. The cheese plate was to die for and came with marcona almonds. The fritto misto was good, but kind of crumbly-- bigger pieces of vegetables would probably work better. The foie gras hot dog was fun and unique, but more of a novelty than anything. The desserts have been fabulous on every visit-- my favorite is the dark chocolate terrine with pistachios and kosher salt-- wonderful combination. Pros: Half-priced bottles on wine on Mondays, Valet Cons: Outdoor seating is in the courtyard of residential lofts
