Full disclosure: I live near this place, which makes it all the better because who cares about parking? (though they have valet). This place signifies the new Silver Lake - a little nicer, still not pretentious, still cool & laid back, but you don't need tattoos or ripped clothes to feel like you fit in. They've turned a fire station truck bay into simply a grand-but-inviting space. I don't frequently just go to a bar for a drink, but I make special trips to this one. And I don't know what the 'cool/unfriendly people' comments are about - this is a place to get a drink with a friend, and everyone is friendly while giving you your space. And ask for George at the bar - the City's best barkeep!
