Review content:
The Taiwan is not about fancy surroundings or plush comfort, but they do turn out some outstanding dishes. We have eaten here for decades and they are quite consistent. Highlights include Shanghai noodles, the various dumplings, a very competent if not unique hot and sour soup, always-perfect dry-fried string beans, and some of the least greasy and crispest onion pancakes I have had anywhere. The menu goes on and on, and I am sure there are many specialties that I should dig into that I have missed so far. Service is efficient and oddly friendly given the usual hectic pace of the place at busy times. Probably the worst aspect of eating here is trying to park during popular dining times.
Pros: inexpensive, food always made fresh, very consistent
Cons: impossible parking, minimal comfort
