Met friends for drinks and dinner on a recent Sunday night. Started out great with an impressive beer selection and extensive menu. Note: it was still light out when we arrived. Appetizers were good, above-average, typical bar food including the calamari. As the sun began to set, it gradually got darker and darker. By the time, our main courses arrived (burgers and the crispy chicken sandwich-yummy) it was dark enough that we had to summon the server and request that additional lights be turned on so we could see the food on our plates. Our request was denied and we were given the explanation that the owner would not allow the staff to alter the lighting. The food was great, as was the early ambience, but it went downhill with the sunset. I struggle giving a good recommendation to a place that made me struggle to see and eat my food but the place was a total joy except for the lighting. PLEASE add some wattage to the bulbs hanging above the bar and to both dining rooms! I would love to go back but will only do so in the daytime until this issue has been resolved. Pros: Beer menu, food, great place to meet friends during the day Cons: Lighting, lighting, lighting
