I have never in my life experienced such a heartless, unprofessional organization. Please don't let them fool you, just because they are a ""rescue"" organization. There are actually a lot of rescue organizations out there who are known for being corrupt. Up until my most recent experience with them, I thought that they were actually an ethical, non-corrupt organization. Boy was I wrong... I guess the customers at HALO clearly get treated A LOT better than the people who have to unfortunately surrender their animals there. The owner and other workers at HALO were very nice to me, up until after I had already surrendered my dog to them. After surrendering my dog to HALO and after not hearing from anyone for over two months, I had called and asked the owner (Jacky) why they never called me to tell me that my dog was adopted out (like I had requested them to do on my surrender application.) I found out from her that my dog got adopted after just two days of being there, but no one bothered to call me. When I asked Jacky to tell me about the family who adopted him, she refused to tell me ANYTHING. I was not asking for an address and phone # for them, but just general information, such as, does the family have kids? Do they live in a house with a fenced in back yard? Are there other pets in the household? Etc. (Just so I would know what type of home he went to.) The owner was abusive and unprofessional towards me. She even had the nerve to yell at me and tell me that she didn't care about me or my situation, etc. In light of all of this, I obviously COMPLETELY REGRET surrendering my beautiful, wonderful dog to HALO. It was an extremely difficult thing for me to do anyway, and then to have to deal with the stress and abuse that I have now had to deal with makes it all the more devastating. Please DO NOT ever surrender an animal to this organization. They are only interested in your MONEY, and they will just judge you and treat you horribly if you EVER try to follow up on what happened with the animal you surrendered. Due to the apparent serious ethics issues involved with this organization, not only do I not recommend surrendering an animal to this organization, but I also would not recommend boarding your animal here or adopting an animal from here.
