Review content:
The decor at Potager suggests a starving artist cooks here, and his art is excellent cuisine. The incongruity between the ambiance (very casual) with the food (very sophisticated) is actually refreshing. No pretension here, just great dishes served by friendly, professional, down to earth people. The menu changes often but we started with a lemon souffle with crab sauce (a journey of texture and flavor) and a simple mushroom spinach salad with sauteed salami (wonderful). Our entrees were Asian spiced short ribs (packed with layers of flavor) and Cassoulet that takes eight hour to prepare and contains lamb, sausage, ham and duck confit. The wine list is also eclectic, you'll find few recognizable labels. Ask the staff or try your luck, you won't be disappointed. For dessert the apple crisp with buttermilk ice cream was a tasty end to the meal. No reservations available so arrive early for immediate seating.
