Going hiking north of town? Stop here on your way to the trailhead for the tastiest breakfast you've ever had in your life. Got guests from out of town visiting? Bring them here for a real ""locals only"" experience (and save yourself the stress of cooking for them, too.) The Maltby cafe is my favorite place for breakfast in all of Seattle. Delicious food in generous portions, tasty coffee, friendly wait staff who know what they're doing, reasonable prices, and a homey atmosphere all add up to put this at the top of my list. The downside to its popularity is that there's usually about a 30-45 minute wait for a table, but this time is easily spent browsing the shops across the parking lot, or sitting on the front porch steps in the sun. They're very kid-friendly--I'd take small children here any morning. A great spot!
Pros: Delicious food, Friendly, great service
Cons: Sometimes a long wait
