TWO MONTHS AFTER SECO INSTALLED NEW TRANE HEATING AND AIR CONDITIONING UNITS( $14,000) WE LEFT ON A TRIP TO WISCONSIN. AND WE PROGRAMMED THE CONTROLLING WALL UNIT TO OPERATE ON AUTO. WE RETURNED A MONTH LATER AT 8PM. THERE WAS A HEAT WAVE HERE IN ROSEVILLE AND THE TEMP IN OUR HOUSE WAS 97 DEGREES. WE COULD NOT GET THE AC TO WORK.WE WENT TO A HOTEL($109). THE NEXT MORNING WE BEGAN TO CALL SECO AT 7AM. NO ONE ANSWERED BUT WE WERE PROMPTED TO LEAVE A MESSAGE. WE EVENTUALLY LEFT THREE MESSAGES. WHEN SECO FINALLY CALLED IT WAS 12 NOON. BY THIS TIME I WAS DRENCHED IN SWEAT. THEY WANTED TO SCHEDULE AN APPOINTMENT FOR THREE DAYS LATER. I REJECTED THAT AND I INSISTED ON TALKING TO SOMEBODY THAT COULD HELP US..AFTER A LONG CONVERSATION IN WHICH I TOLD SECO THAT MY HEALTH WAS AT STAKE(DIABETIC ON INSULIN--AND I WAS NOT EATING DUE TO THE 95 DEGREES IN MY HOME- THEY AGREED TO SEND SOMEONE OUT. THE REPAIRMAN SHOWED AT 6PM. IT STILL WAS NOT WORKING WHEN HE LEFT AT 7:45 PM. HE TOLD US THAT A ""CONTROLLER"" HAD FAILED BUT HE DID NOT HAVE THE PART NEEDED TO REPLACE THE ""DEFECTIVE "" ONE. WE WENT TO A HOTEL AGAIN($114). HE RETURNED THE NEXT MORNING.HE SAID THAT HE HAD BEEN ORDERED TO INFORM US THAT WE HAD TO PAY HIM $198 FOR THE PART AND ITS INSTILLATION. AND UNLESS I GAVE HIM A CHECK HE WOULD NOT INSTALL THE PART. OVER MY VOCIFEROUS OBJECTIONS I HANDED OVER A CHECK. WHEN HE LEFT THE AC HAD BEGUN WORKING. I KNEW IT WOULD TAKE SEVERAL HOURS TO GET COMFORTABLE. BY 8 PM THE AC DIED ONCE MORE. OVER THE NEXT TWO WEEKS THIS SEQUENCE OF EVENTS KEPT REPEATING. TEMP IN OUR HOUSE WAS IN THE 90'S. SECO KEPT UP THE CHARADE TELLING US IT WAS AN ""ACT OF GOD"" AND THEY WERE NOT RESPONSIBLE. AT ONE POINT THEY SHOWED US SOMETHING BLACK AND GREEN AND CALLED IT AN ELECTROCUTED FROG THAT SHORTED OUT OUR UNIT. AFTER MANY CALLS FROM US THEY AGREED TO REPLACE THE TRANE UNITS. AFTER THEY DID THE AC WORKED. WHEN THE WERE LEAVING I ASKED THEM IF THEY WERE GOING TO RETURN THE UNIT TO GOD. SECO HAS NEVER RE-INBURSED US FOR OUR HOTEL EXPENSES OR FOR THE $198 FOR THE ""DEFECTIVE"" CONTROLLER. NOR HAVE THEY RE-INBURSED US FOR THE TWO WEEKS OF MISERY WE INDURED BEFORE THE TRANE UNIT WAS REPLACED, THIS COMPANY IS ABSOLUTELY THE WORST I HAVE ENCOUNTERED IN THE 13 YEARS I HAVE LIVED IN SUN CITY ROSEVILLE. IN TERMS OF SERVICE STARS I WOULD AWARD THEM A MINUS 50.
