El Jardin was recommended to us by friends as the best place to go for Mexican food in Denver. Though it is a bit further away than we normally go (only 15 minutes really, but in the opposite direction), we decided to give it a try. Boy, are we glad we did. This is by far the best Mexican Restaurant we have enjoyed since our trip to Tucson many years ago. The food is fantastic, the service is always great, and Ben (the owner) is frequently hopping from table to table to check in to see if there is any way he can make your dining experience even better. If you make a second trip, Ben and the wait staff are sure to consider you family and greet you by name on subsequent visits. I love my green chile spicy and this place isn't afraid to turn up the heat - unlike so many other places that warn you that the food is spicy, but rarely deliver. Don't fear though if you're don't want your food too spicy, there are plenty of other delicious offerings that cater to the mainstream, normal guests. (Yes, I am considering myself abnormal when it comes to liking my food really spicy). I wish I could comment on the full menu first hand, but the ""Large Combination"", including a bean burrito, cheese/onion enchilada, beef taco, and bean tostada, is so good and offers such variety, that to order anything else is out of the question for me. So good. My family tells me the rest of the menu items are great as well, but I am just a creature of habit, ... I mean, why mess with a good thing? Don't forget to order a margarita - you'll be glad you did! Just go! I promise you won't find any better in the Denver area.
