Review content:
Having been to Arnies a few times the last couple of years, my family and I decided to take my father out to dinner as they've always been a reliable restaurant to go to. My question is: What happened?!?! We made reservations for six on a Wednesday evening and upon arriving, we were greeted, if you could call that, by the hostess who seemed to busy talking to co-workers to acknowledge us. Bad start. I told her our name and the time of our reservation(we arrived about ten minutes early) and she had no record of our reservation but said it would be no problem getting us seated. It didn't seem that busy but we sat in the lobby for 20 minutes!! As we waited, I excused myself to the bathroom and upon walking to the bathroom, I could see part of the dining room was empty with several tables available. Exactly why were we waiting so long?? I asked if we could be seated with so many tables open and was given a ""deer in the headlights"" look from the hostess as she replied ""it will just be a minute"" as if I was the bad guy in all of this. Wow! I was one minute from asking for a manager when finally we were seated. Our server was great. He seemed genuine and friendly and was attentive to all our needs, though seemed a little smug at times. He brought out our drinks with appetizers soon after. We all shared a crab dip and a quesadilla which were both tasty and set the tone for the rest of the evening. Our food did not take long and looked and tasted great. My NY steak was perfectly done with a smokey type butter on top. My father had a lobster which was tender and juicy and put a big smile on his face, as well as ours. We shared some desserts with my father having a big slice of chocolate cake and ice cream and our server placed a candle in the cake which was a nice touch. Next time we go to Arnies, we will bypass the nightmare host desk and go right into the bar and save ourselves a headache.
Pros: The food and the view
Cons: Confusion at the hostess desk
