When they opened the Draper Family GNC store in Heisman Square, I was really excited! I was so happy that I would no longer have to drive across town to the mall location to access all my fitness/nutrition and supplementation needs. I spend about $125/month on supplements, and had planned on building a good rapport with this family business as a repeat and very loyal customer (LOVE LOVE LOVE supporting locally owned businesses). Unfortunately, the Draper Family GNC store suffers from overzealous commission salesmen that constantly try to upsell, get you to sign up for clubs/special offers and harangue you non-stop with 'what can we do for you' 'what do you need' questions instead of letting you browse. Even if you go in knowing exactly what you want, the pushy employees with try to sell you something more expensive all while spouting a bunch of nonsensical jargon in an attempt to intimidate you with their pseudo-expertise. On top of all that, they don't open until 10am. Need something before your workout mid-morning? Forget it. You have to wait until 10am... (a real drag and bad for business). If you live in East Norman and need supplements, AVOID this place and either buy online or try Target/WAL-MART where your experience will be much better. Don't reward the pushy commission salesmen trying to get you to buy a gold membership or some other such crap! AVOID!!!
