Review content:
2006 marks the Fatted Calf's 40th anniversary in the same building on Bemiston Ave., never once even so much as remodeled to the best of my knowledge, although in the beginning they had only the tall tables with little pots of ketchup mixed with relish on them. There were at one time Fatted Calf restaurants in Boston and Chicago (I know, because I lived in those places and ate at them) and perhaps elsewhere. Now the original one in St. Louis is the only one left, as far as I know. There is precious little left in St. Louis that I remember from that far back and what remains is mostly greatly changed. The Fatted Calf is a treasure to be cherished! I've never found a burger I liked better and I've lived all over the country.
Pros: The best burger on the planet, at a fair price, in a great environment. Friendly staff
Cons: Big crowds and a long line at lunch time on weekdays.
