Doctor-Patient confidentiality As a patient I have a right to complete confidentiality. Anything I discuss with my physician within the confines of the clinic should become protected under the Data Protection Act. My privacy information should not be undermined. These are great concerns I have mentioned to the organization. Also of concern are errors in a patient records. Safeguards should be in place, to place restrictions on medical staff assistants who are able to view patients medical records. I can remenber my aunts appointment whereas the front desk and the medical assistant taking her temp and weight had access to my aunts medical records. Having access to such medical, personal and pertinent information should be safeguarded. Yes we are living in the times of digital demand, however there are just certain medical and personal information that can be safeguard for the protection of the patient. . It is my hope that Urban Medical Group will implement safeguard measures to ensure patient privacy that should be addressed in regards to The Data Protection Act.
