Review content:
I have been to Hungry Bear 4-5 times and I have a couple of two year olds. I?ve read all the reviews and here?s my opinion. Overall I?d rate it a 3. The crust is pretty good, the sauce is a little salty, the toppings are adequate, but the pasta and salad bar are weak. It is pretty family friendly and does get really noisy when crowded. If you go during non peak times, there are usually just a couple of partial old crusty pizzas on the table. Once they did ask us what we wanted and made us a pizza, but that takes a few minutes. If you go during peak hours getting pizza can be tough. The staff isn?t really attentive so the pizza gets quickly eaten. They will make a couple more as everyone sits around waiting and then when they put it out they are swarmed and the food is gone in about 30 seconds. After about 15-20 minutes the staff finally figures it out and starts cranking out pizzas. Drinks don?t come with the adult buffet but they do with the kids buffet. We usually bring milk for the kids and drink their sodas. They don?t really like this and they do question me about it when I order. You can?t drink water without purchasing a drink. They are a little cheap on that. A glass of fountain soda costs about $0.02. Even if a few people were dishonest, what would it cost them? Maybe $0.50 a day at the worst, but it would greatly improve the customer experience. I think most people are pretty honest about it. After all, it is in Layton, Utah, not some prison cafeteria. I have been overcharged once, but they did reimburse me when I caught it. It is run by kids. I have never seen an adult behind the counter. I think most of the 5 star ratings are postings by their owners and employees, especially the 4/23/07 posting acting as a rebuttal to the 4/2/07 complaint. It?s really suspicious. Pros: Pizza Cons: Service, pizza availability during rush, drink policy isn't customer friendly
