At first things were ok. Then a drug dealer moved in above us. Every single day, Every single night, ALL DAY, this crackhead played his murder rap as loud as it would go with absolutely NO consideration for anyone else in the complex. This is no exaggeration, the bass coming from above us was so obnoxious that the shelves on our walls would rattle and vibrate and the pictures on them would slowly shuffle forward until they fell off. Our doors and windows would rattle constantly. We could hear every word to every gangster ass song this dude blared. This went on for over a month. We complained and complained to Old Town. They manage the entire building. They didn't do crap. We weren't even the only ones complaining about this guy. It is hard to imagine that nonstop bass could drive a person insane, but when there just isn't a single day that you can have a little peace, you will go crazy. I began to have anxiety attacks from the constant noise and lack of sleep. Old Town knew about this too. Every time we complained we were told ""we are doing what we can"". Whatever. We ended up having to actually break our lease. The number of scum that were always in and out of this building was ridiculous. The manager at old town was always very polite and professional, however he was all talk. Once we got a lawyer and were finally going to get the hell out of there, we offered to paint over a wall that we painted a mural on. The manager acted sympathetic and told us ""it's just one wall. Don't worry about it. You will get your full security deposit back and we can take care of the wall. Not a big deal."" Trusting what he said, we left the wall as it was. But of course, like all the other promises we were made that were never followed through on, they took a hundred buck to paint back ONE dining room wall. It was a small wall at that. After all the horrors we had to live with, then these people nickel and dime you like that when they are well aware of how horrible the living conditions are is just a slap in the face. What kind of quality of living do you call not being able to sleep in your own apartment, not being able to watch tv in your own apartment because you can't hear over the thug rap, not feeling safe with all the crackheads going in and out, not being able to write on a desk because it vibrates from the bass so much. Seriously, I can't even put into words how horrible this non stop noise was. If old town cant even get ONE apartment to turn their music down then what CAN they do? I wouldn't know, I never saw them actually help remedy the uninhabitable environment. After having to live in such awful conditions, feeling completely trapped in your own home, they still want to take as much money from us as possible. Not to mention this place was a dump and when we would request something be fixed they would say ""well you're moving out soon anyway"" and so nothing got fixed that we wanted because we wouldn't be there long enough to make fixing things worth their money. Just remember they're all talk and everything that comes out of their mouth sounds great, but don't believe what you hear until you see it.
