Review content:
Sure, they helped me sign the lease quickly, so that they could get paid!
About a month after I had moved in and signed the lease to my new aparmtnet, I was mailed an Annual Rental Surcharge Notice of Change of Terms of Tenancy. It listed the following additional fees:
1) Rent Control Registration Fee - $9.35, ""provided that the LANDLORD is not DELINQUENT in the payment of the registration or annual registration renewal fee and has served a copy of a valid registration or annual registration renewal statement on the tenant of that rental unit."" (Los Angeles Housing Dept.)
2) Systematic Code Enforcement fee - $2.96/month. What's the point of having a code enforcement fee when everyone in the building knows the code to get in without using their key? Some tennants tell other's the code and it makes the building easily accessible and even more unsafe than it already is.
*They also charge a common pet-rent fee of $25/month.
Pros: Able to sign lease quickly
Cons: They charge ridiculous monthly fees in addition to rent
