Review content:
I'm a HUGE Baked and Wired fan, which I don't feel gets enough good buzz among all the other cupcakeries in DC. Although I do like knowing that I'll never have to stand in a long line outside of B&W's storefront just to get a cupcake or a cookie.
Baked & Wired's cupcakes have pretty much a 50-50 ratio: LOTS of cake and LOTS of frosting. Just the way I like them. Don't expect dinky little cakes here. Their classic flavors are just as amazing as their signatures, like the Cherry Blossom cupcake that comes out every Spring. The cake is always moist and dense, and the frosting very creamy.
I've also had their cookies and brownies, which are amazing - they have a cookie sandwich with two peanut butter cookies with chocolate ganache in the middle that's so simple yet so satisfying. Their brownies are just the right size and come in different varieties, like with peanut butter. They're perfectly fudgy and not too cakey.
B&W is also good for just stopping by, hanging out with a book or laptop and sipping a latte. They have a coffee bar on the other side of the baked goods counter that offers very coffee drinks, either hot or iced. They also have quiche and granola for those needing something savory or healthy.
Pros: Wide array of baked goods
Cons: runs out of certain flavors quickly, not open late
