Review content:
My cat had lost a great deal of weight. I brought her to Bastet because of the great reviews posted on the net. After a quick exam Dr. Bascilious walked out of the room and the receptionist returned with paperwork to perform aprox. $1,000+ of tests (X-rays, Bloodwork and Urine). I asked if the Dr. was available to discuss the tests. He came back in the room angry and said words to the effect that I was a bad pet owner if I didn't run all of the tests. I nicely asked if we could start with the bloodworkup and urine. He said, ""that's your choice"" and walked out of the room. He sent the receptionist back in and I signed off and moved back to reception to pay for the tests. My cat was diagnosed with diabetes. I was given the results over the phone and I ordered the insulin, shots and purchased the canned and dry prescription food. I made an appointment to go over the tests and waited for over an hour the first time (rescheduled for the next day when the receptionist told me it would be another hour or two). At the next meeting, I couldn't figure out how to get the Dr. to explain the test results and how to treat my cat. He just stood there as I asked a series of questions (how much food, how much insulin, where do I give the injections, etc.). It was like pulling teeth and very frustrating. My mother has diabetes so I asked if I should use a glucometer. His answer, ""if you want"". So frustrating. I get the sense that if he doesn't feel you meet his criteria (money based) he tries to discourage you from becoming a regular client and is generally in a pretty foul mood. He doesn?t provide the pet owner with the information needed to properly care for their pet.
Pros: Location
Cons: Service, Charges, Treatment
