Review content:
I brought my Abyssinian to Dr. Basillious for a possible urinary blockage-in cats, potentially fatal. The Dr. said he would have to anesthetize my cat in order to do x-rays and catheter his urinary tract-in other words, he had all ready diagnosed a problem without the x-rays. I was then given an estimate by one of his techs for over 850.00-most of which was not even mentioned by the Dr. beforehand. My main complaint is that he said he would get right to it.. He said to come back in 45 minutes and he would be done. As I was leaving, 2 people arrived with another cat. I came back in an hour (15 more minutes than the Dr. asked for). My cat had still not been treated. I could hear the Dr. talking to people in one of the treatment rooms. These were the people who came in after me. He was clearly not discussing the health of their cat. I was upset but not loud or angry when I asked the tech why he was just talking to these people and not treating my cat. I said I would have come back in 2 hours if you said 2 hours. The Dr. must have overheard me because he came angrily storming out of the treatment room and yelled at his tech to get my cat out of here-he would not treat him and how dare I tell him what to say to his clients. Suddenly my cat came running out of the back obviously scared and the Dr. yelled-""put him in the carrier"". I said he will not let anyone but me go near him at this point as the cat was very tense. He repeated no, ""I don't want to treat your cat, and you can't come back here to get him!"". Finally, the other clients left and he allowed me to put him in the carrier. By now, I was in shock-I had never seen anything like this. I did not know where else to bring him. The tech (the one who was shocked as well), gave me the # and address of a place about a mile away. I called them (VCA Pet Hospital on Olive in Burbank) and Jill, the office manager told me to bring him right in. Night and Day. They took him in and treated him with care and compassion.
Pros: Near my House
Cons: Uncompassionate, over estimate of charges-rude temperment
