Review content:
I would not recommend Ward forging! I needed a piece of stainless steel tubing rolled for a sculpture I was commissioned to build. They were the closest place I could find that can roll 2"" d tubing and were recommended by many people. They mangled it really badly and then told me it was my fault for not telling them that the wall gauge was too thin. They had the metal in their hands when they put it in the roller! Not to mention I don't roll my own metal because that is not what my profession is. I took it to them because that is what they do for a living! I am now out $350 in metal that is so mangled I can't use it and had to buy another thicker walled piece so that they could roll it without destroying it. When I called and talked to the owner to question why I was being charged for the work considering how much money they had already cost me in materials he told me that they were being nice by only charging me to roll one piece instead of two! He then asked what the piece was being used for and when I told him it was for a sculpture commissioned by the federal government, he said ""Oh, that explains why it has to look good. A lot of times when we roll things for sculptors, it doesn't matter what it looks like because it is for an armature or something"". I still don't understand why it matters what I am using the metal for. I think the same care should be taken no matter what will be done with it and if you screw something up, you should make it right! I will drive as far as I have to the next time I need something rolled to avoid going to Ward Forging!
