Review content:
I never write reviews, but I count it a miracle that I found Dr. Cavaliere.
After stepping on a nasty shard of glass last week, I ended up in the Emergency Room. There, I entered a world of pain: three different surgeons hacked away at my foot, stabbed eleven searing shots of lidocaine into my wound, and soaked towel after towel with blood. Six hours of cutting did not remove the glass, but only left me with a jagged, gaping hole. The doctors wouldn't listen to me; one surgeon even insisted that there was never glass there to begin with (!!!!) These were perfectly nice people, but none of them took a careful look at the problem before slicing away my skin. Needless to say, I had no faith in surgeons at this point.
Fortunately, one podiatrist recommended Dr. Cavaliere. He was gentle, he listened, he took X-Rays, and he took a long and careful look at the puncture before operating. I barely felt a thing throughout the entire operation; it was on par with a tooth cleaning. He pulled out the glass with only one small incision, which he sewed and dressed cleanly. The whole operation cost less than a third of what the ER charged.
Dr. Cavaliere explained to me how the tissue in the foot is different from anywhere else in the body, so a large puncture wound can not be fixed with skin from your arm or leg. If the three doctors at the ER had done just a little more damage, I would have lost a big chunk of my foot forever. There is no doubt that the world would be better off with more knowledgeable, caring, and professional doctors like this one.
