Review content:
My fiance' and I were looking to marry in a small, courtyard ceremony in New Orleans. We contacted Robin Pruitt at the New Orleans Wedding Chapel. We explained that we really wanted a simple courtyard ceremony with minimal guests(about 20 people). We met with her at the chapel and the courtyard there was perfect. We booked and paid 600.00 for ceremony only. Two weeks later we contacted her and she said she would no longer be able to hold the ceremony at the chapel courtyard because of a fire. We explained that a courtyard ceremony was our only requirement and that we would seek another chapel if that was not possible. She explained that a friend owned a mansion nearby that had a courtyard. We met there a week later and paid her an extra 150.00 for this location. A month goes by with no word from her. A few days before wedding I contact her to finalize ceremony arrangements. Not able to reach her, left several urgent messages. Two days before wedding she called to say that she had not missed a wedding in 15 yrs. ours wouldn't be the first. Meet one hr. before ceremony for pictures in courtyard of mansion. At 1:00pm the day of our wedding, she called to say she couldn't get into the mansion as owner had left for vacation and not left key. Owner couldn't be reached no ceremony could be done there. She said she would marry us at our hotel room. I did not pay her to get married in my hotel room. I paid for a courtyard. We told her that we wanted a full refund from her because we had not gotten what our ceremony contract was for. Of course we could not find other ceremony location on such short notice. We did end up getting married at our hotel by another minister in the area. Days, weeks, months, and now yrs. have gone by and we still have not received a refund from her. Could not find her to file civil claim. Had to call all guests and tell them location had changed, wasted money for invitations with location on them, etc. HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE Pros: WAS INEXPENSIVE FOR SMALLER CEREMONY Cons: COST US MONEY FOR NOTHING, LOST 750.00 AND RUINED OUR WEDDING DAY
