Shopped there for years. Never again. One day noticed a poster for tool rentals and asked if they had a hub puller. Store manager (pot-bellied hispanic woman, 50s) gives me a brand new hub tool set, quoting a mere $7 rental. When she can't get the receipt to print properly, she instead rings up full price on my credit card, telling me to remind her when I bring it back so she can adjust it later. (Bad accounting practice). Having no paperwork, I ask how long is the rental period and she says 5 days. On fifth day, I return it and she tells me I owe more than the price of a new tool set. I argue she told me it was 5-day rental, but she denies it saying it's a 4-day maximum period. She challenges me to prove otherwise. I tell her I can't because she failed to issue a proper rental receipt or agreement. It's her word and honor against mine. I ask her to show me the actual store policy posted or in writing. She says there's nothing printed except on the rental receipt which she acknowledges I never received. I point out her several mistakes mishandling the original transaction. I tell her I'll accept the full price charged and report the incident to the company if she can't honor her quote. Seeing the only other customer walk out of the store, she yells at me in front of two employees telling me customers shouldn't rent if they're too stupid not to know the rental period. I attempt to reason, explaining any rental business should post the terms clearly and issue paperwork. She then angrily issues a refund for the false original sale and charges me arbitrarily for 2 days of rental. Rather than argue further with this lunatic, I ask her name. She refuses to tell me and states she's the only store manager there. Tried to report this problem to Kragen headquarters by email, but I never received a response. Pros: Cheap parts if it's the only option. Cons: Bad service. Unfair consumer practices. Poor management.
