I let my Clear service laps and received an offer for restoration of my service and to erase my previous balance. I spent a frustrating amount of time on the phone with a friendly woman who explained that the offer was no longer valid and that my current modem would have to be replaced. She offered to wave the reconnection fee but informed me that I would be charged for a new modem (discounted at 75% which would cost me $25 in addition to the $49 per month fee). I declined and was treated to a high pressure line of conversation which included her asking me to borrow money to restart my service. After continuing to decline her offer, she wished me luck finding such a great deal with anyone else and the call ended after 1/2 hour conversation. I called back and simply asked to restore my service and take advantage of the offer. This was the third call I made to try to keep my current device and not pay for a new one AND take advantage of the 6 month offer. I was successful this time, and the call only took 5 minutes! Yay! Persistence pays off sometimes and saved me over $200. Clear has a disjointed customer service, but great internet service if you are willing to spend some time on the phone and try various extensions and speak with several reps.
