Their prices are super high and they have inconsistent fee policies. I have bought 3 guns from them since they have been opened at their ""new"" location. the second gun I purchased I had to used my concealed carry permit as identification because I had misplaced my DL. No problems, no fees, nothing. I went in a week later and purchased another gun and when the salesman asked for ID i explained how i had used my concealed carry there the week before and everything went smoothly. He went to go ask whoever was in charge at the time and came back to tell me they could run my concealed carry permit, but it would cost an extra $30! AS IF THEY HAD TO DO SOMETHING EXTRA TO USE IT! They placed the same phone call to the FBI like with every other purchase for the background check, no extra steps.
That is Jim's Firearms trying to take advantage of a repeat customer because I was using something different, but perfectly acceptable by the FBI's standards.
Granted, you probably won't experienced this exact scenario as me, but this is a testament to their character, they will try to take advantage of you whenever the opportunity arises.
Do yourself a favor and go to Cabelas, Bass Pro or Pelican Pawn for gun purchases in and around Baton Rouge. Better prices and better service there!
Pros: wide selection of guns, they sell used guns
