Review content:
I met with two stylists at different salons before settling on SC. (Note about the receptionist: the same person who made my appointment for me a few days earlier couldn't find it in the system the day I showed up.) I settled on SC because the stylist, Daniel, impressed me in the initial consultation, despite the negative citysearch review by the lady whose color turned out poorly and she couldn't get her stylist to call her back. Daniel seemed to understand exactly what I wanted and what I didn't want. He also seemed confident and knowledgeable about color, cuts and his products (the salon carried Redken). My hair is naturally dirty blonde and I have been getting foil highlights for years, but I was looking for a more dramatic, all-over effect and a warmer, more buttery blonde color. I also wanted to get more layers put into my waist-lengt thick hair, to take off some of the weight. Daniel had a very different technique for applying color than my old stylist, but I trusted that he knew was he was doing and that it was going to turn my highlights into a Sienna Miller-type blonde. He applied two products. Once my hair was washed, he did my cut, but insisted on using a razor instead of scissors. At the end, my cut appeared the same as it was before, just frizzier. My color seemed to have darker streaks in it but Daniel assured me that it was my natural color coming through. When I came home, I realized it was not only not my natural color but it was brassy, reddish and unflattering to my face. He had put in lowlights, without me asking for them. He gave me Redken shampoo, which, despite all his promises was awful and dried out my hair beyond belief. And it cost $15 for a 10 oz bottle! I called and left messages on three seperate occasions over the course of 4 days. My calls were unreturned. The receptionist accused me of no showing for two appointments, which never happened, because I was never called back. I took my business elsewhere. Pros: Stylish space, trendy atmosphere Cons: overpriced for what you get, terrible customer service, awful hair products!
