I needed to remove my old water heater for a new one somewhat urgently. The plumber was professional and nice but the cost was almost twice as much as other quotes (I called around after the job was completed). The cost of removal and replacement for a 40 gallon Bradford White with a 5 year warranty was $1800. I called around and received quotes of $700 to $900 for the same exact heater with the same warranty. There was no need for repiping, easy access to the heater, and no other issues.
