Review content:
Unwilling to help in an emergency. I had 2 incidents which required prompt vet care. My dog got stung by a bee and started going into anaphylactic shock. I called the clinic and explained exactly what was happening (her whole face was swelling at an alarming rate). After speaking with several people, they told me to just take her to the emergency vet when they opened because the doctor said he was too busy to see her. They were open another hour and a half at that point. The other involved a different dog that was healthy. Her back legs suddenly went out on her and she was not able to use them at all. We didn't know if she was having a stroke or if something else was terribly wrong. Same situation - they checked with the vet and eventually had me speak to the officer manager who told me that she had spoken to the vet and he was ""too busy"" to see her. I was advised to take her to the emergency vet when they opened in a couple of hours. At that point, Alsager ACC was going to be open another 2 hours. I called and interviewed several other vets the next day to inquire as to what their policy was in such situations. Without fail, every one of them told me that no matter how busy they were, they would squeeze in a client in such a situation. Our current vet has proven that she meant it when she said that. She has fit us in each of the few times we've had an emergency. They've also been very helpful during non-emergency, but urgent care, situations. I would never recommend Alsager Animal Care Center, nor would I ever consider returning. Pros: Were happy to schedule us for routine vet care Cons: we were being grossly overcharged for prescription meds and they will not see animals in an emergency situation - if you have an emergency, you'd better hope you already had an appointment scheduled
