Tried several home remedies from eco-friendly to mega-Drano to unclog kitchen sink over Labor Day Weekend and finally gave in and called Rotorooter with coupon from Angie's List. I was able to book online for an appointment on Tuesday morning; they emailed to confirm right away, called 20 minutes before arrival, got there right on time, and fixed the problem with a 6-month guarantee. The sink is still running a little slowly, so I may be calling them in to re-auger the clog that has no doubt built up over years from previous owners who did nothing to maintain this house and my own hairy and furry pack of animals using these sinks. It was a team of trainee and trainer, and I was impressed with the training process.
