Review content:
...it has to do its job. The best way to ventilate an attic is with a system that provides continuous airflow along the entire underside of the roof sheathing. This requires a balanced system of intake vents low at the roof's edge or in the soffit/eaves and exhaust vents at the ridge. It has been reported to me by multiple licensed contractors that the Whitaker roof that I paid $14,500 for lacks proper intake ventilation altogether. When apprised of this did Whitaker return to fix the problem? Am I writing this review for a reason? In point of fact, the owner contacted several roofing contractors to blackball us as customers. Classy thing to do, right? What do we have to show for our "investment?" A home that is nearly unbearable insofar as heat gain in summer and heat loss in winter. One just can't sleep in the two bedrooms upstairs, one the master. Bone chilling in the winter, supremely sultry in the summer. Air conditioning and heating can't obviate the problem. We are living the nightmare daily, and I'm sure it makes Shawn Whitaker happy. Please, do yourself a favor. Interview other contractors.
