My family and I decided to try Meldinos one night because we appreciate a good, REAL New York style pizza and being from Brooklyn originally the mass produced papajohn and dominos just won't do. I couldn't have been more wrong on this night. When u go out for pizza u expect the atmosphere to be laid back and friendly, you want that easy going feeling that makes u sit back and loosen ur tie while you sip your cold beer and this place was not unfortunetly. As I'm sure everyone agrees, I like a clean restaurant and Meldinos is was very Unclean on this night, our table needed to be wiped off and the floor was full of debris, we were brought out the wrong pizza by our server who kept going out back every couple of minutes to smoke cigarettes so she had that smell of tar and smoke whenever she would come to our table(few and far between thank God) we waited almost 30mins for our corrected pizza so we ordered fries for the kids while we waited and they were cold, our pizza arrived and it was ok I guess. I hate to complain but I expected to have a good time and in reality I paid for the experience I was looking for but just didn't receive it; Bad, smelly service and average food with Mellow Mushroom prices but hey, Meldinos has only been operational since '07 and it definetly shows, maybe ill go back in ten years. Not likely.
