Review content:
We had already had a previous stone that was for my parents unfortanely when my mom passed she had a white marble stone that was about the most that my family loved about it. It still stood out from all the rest however her birthdate was wrong which the owners did not want to consider our feelings and fixed the problem instead they wanted more money never the less the art design was like something a 3rd grade could've drew up. All in all it was a learning experience one that I would promise myself never to go alone our be pressured or rushed into something that doesn't feel right. So 12years later our father passed away and again were faced with having to redo our parents stone using the same white marble stone. First the mortuary where we went to is a rip off its not the same like before the people who our your funeral representatives are less compassion and more eager to sell sell sell just to earn commission after being robbed of so much money from the mortuary they suggested that i keep my moms old stone because it stands out and why change it and they could recommend some monuments that they worked with for years and they bragged how this family has been in the business for 75years generation after generation. And I would get a good deal. So I go to FONTANA first i told them all i wanted to do was to redo my mother's stone adding pics of my dad she quoted me a price mind you the stone is my own stone and I was quoted over $$$$ as I even mentioned the name of the person who they sent me to come to but he wasn't around and they looked like they weren't interested in my business. So I turned and walked away. No goodbyes. I went further down el camino in colma, ca and I remember passing by this one monument that caught my attention first of all they just had these updated monuments stading out font of their place of business and it didn't look fenced or creepy like how some of the other monument places look. As I pulled alone side and I was walking towards the door I was greeted by a friendly guy who had a russian accent who I later found out and who has been in the business for about 35years but just how kind he was and sat down with me and listened to how important this was for me and how i couldn't afford any mistakes and some of the pieces i needed was to be custome made. Not only did he sketched out something for me I was not only please with the work but I got a new stone even better and way more less then what I would of payed for my previous stone. I can now visit my parents with a smile on my face knowing that I can close this chapter of my life with them and open up a new one. Do you know that the funeral place and Fontana called me back and said I was missed quoted the wrong price earlier and that I shouldn't do a new away my old stone its one of a kind and that Im being over charged. I said are you serious??? Fontana blew it! You only get one chance with me and first impression are always lasting impressions "I don't think they'll be in business to long" and if they are they better think about there customers needs and as for my previous stone well one thing I've learned in my journey of life its just a stone I have no attachments to it nor will it bring my mother back in belonged in the dump along with the monument place I went to the first time. Folks don't be fooled when you go to your mortuary to spend money check it out for yourself...Art In Stone is the BEST! Thanks Leon!
