Review content:
I was a bleach blonde for 30 years. It was part of who I was. The hair, smokin' bod, hot wardrobe... it was all part of an identity which had evolved over the years. When I was 25, on a soap opera in NYC and an ultra-thin beach babe, it worked for me. But now in my mid-30s, the look that had carried me so far was aging me beyond my years. In addition, the men who typically asked me out were players looking for blonde bombshells. I needed a major makeover. One evening over a bottle of wine with a close friend we bought a box of hair color and voila! Disaster. I had met James, manager of Shine Salon at my favorite hangout "Petra's" in Plaza Midwood. Everyone who worked with him always looked great, and I knew if anyone could fix my self-inflicted hair fiasco, the folks at Shine could. Amy went to work, and not only fixed the awful color I had created, but birthed a fabulous new hair color just for me. I went from washed out and aged to a fabulous combination of dark brown with subtle red tones. Blondes turn heads, that's for sure. And I was worried about not being able to carry off such a dramatic change. But thanks to Amy and James, I'm still turning heads but now for the right reasons -- my friends say the new style has shaved six years off my appearance, accentuates my best features and my confidence has skyrocketed. An added bonus... about two weeks after Amy did my hair, I met a wonderful man and we've been dating for six weeks. When I told him I had been blonde all my life, he said he could never imagine me any other way than as a brunette! I am so grateful to Amy and James and am pleased to endorse this caring, enthusiastic salon as one of the best I've ever visited. KG, Charlotte, NC Pros: Educate you on proper hair care, great job, GREAT attitudes Cons: They can't come home with you to style it every day
