Review content:
My experience with this facility was incredibly poor. Please read my entire post. I called the Animal Care Center to inquire about flea treatments for my cat. The reason why I selected this particular spot over a chain like Banfield @ Pet Smart was that I knew that it was LOCALLY owned and as a local business owner myself I believe in supporting local business. I asked the girl that answered the phone about several flea treatments to find out the best way to treat my cat. Every question I asked the girl she did not know; she would put me on hold and go ask someone else. The third time this happened she said she was the sister of someone that worked there; she implied she didn't work there and that was why she wasn't qualified to answer my questions, which is why she kept putting me on hold. When I asked her what time they closed that day she told me 6:30pm. I arrived at the Animal Care Center at exactly 6pm. When I went to walk in their door their hours clearly read they closed at 6pm. However, their door was open so I assumed they may have extended summer hours (based on the fact the girl I had spoken with earlier said they closed at 6:30). There was one woman behind the service desk and some people standing around and sitting. No one said hello or acknowledged me upon me walking in, but I figured the woman was preoccupied, so no biggie. After about ten minutes, the room cleared out a little and I was sitting down against the wall (not facing the service desk) and there was one other woman sitting down as well. After an additional 25 minutes, no one had yet to speak to me. I asked the other woman sitting if anyone had acknowledged her and she said no and that she had been waiting a long time. So I thought that maybe they did not realize we were waiting. I stepped back behind the desk and calmly popped my head into a room where the veterinarian, the woman from the service desk and another staff member were talking with a dog in the room. My exact, calm and non aggressive words, "I'm sorry for interrupting, I just wanted to make sure you knew there was a couple people here because no one has addressed us. Thanks!"I walked back to the waiting room and sat down. After about five minutes the veterinarian stepped out and said, "Can I help you with something?" I attempted to say, "Actually, this lady here has been waiting here longer." Before I even finished that sentence the veterinarian began verbally attacking me. I was SHOCKED! It was literally an attack, I was frozen, I was fearful. I am a 25 y/o female and this big older guy's eyes were crazy. I honestly thought he was going to hit me. Again, I was in SHOCK so I literally sank into the chair and just let him have at me. I honestly couldn't have got a word in edgewise unless I had stooped to his level and started screaming at him. He yelled things like, "I shouldn't have even been here as they closed at 6. I had no right to say anything to them about not addressing me. Who did I think I was?" I mean he went on and on. His last words were there were plenty of other veterinarians around....he threw his hands at the door and pretty much ordered me to leave.
