I am not one to complain unless there is a worthy complaint. I will also write letters of recommendation. Since our move here last year, we have been clients of the Pet Health Center. Courteous staff, but outrageously overpriced. Once I mentioned the excess price - the quality of care went down. Prior to me mentioning the excess price of one medication..the staff urged me to bring my cat in for a second visit. We discussed his condition, I put this second visit off for the weekend and called Monday morning to make an appt. They urged me not to wait, due to allowing time for the procedure. They chose to do a CBC and more x-rays on a 13 year old cat with constipation. $193 later, they said that the cat was fine and to increase his laxative. I felt like they took advantage of my feelings for my animal, and have not followed up with me like they have in the past. They sold me Lactulose 60cc (2oz) at $20.00. This costs them no more than 30 cents an oz. Even if they charged me $10 they would make over 800% profit. Then there is the x-rays on top of the x-rays they took days earlier. WHY DIDN'T THEY RECOMMEND THE INCREASE OF THE LAXATIVE PRIOR TO THE URGENT CARE THEY DIDN'T GIVE! Is there a reasonable vet out there who also cares for the owners of all these animals? Pros: Nice new building Cons: Inability to express your views about the high price.
