Businiess name:  Beacon Plumbing, Heating & Mechanical

Review content:
I was in a pinch and called Beacon because I didn't have time to get competitive quotes to replace a broken water heater. Who would at 6am on a Monday with water all over the floor when you've got to catch a flight and there are others in your household who need to use hot water? They took forever to show up, even longer to complete the job, they did a sloppy/incomplete job and were not pleasant to work with at all. When I called around after the fact to see if I got a fair price, I found 3-4 other plumbers who would have done the same job in half the time (~3 hrs vs 7 hrs) and less than half the price ($700-1000 vs $2000). When I called Beacon back to clarify and dispute their price, they declined to explain what made up their ASTRONOMICAL "flat rate fee" and would not go down on price - even given evidence that they were so much higher than all their competitors. Not only that, but they said they would break down the charge into 2 payments, but charged it all at once. Save yourselves money, time and headaches and call anyone but Beacon. Pass it on.
